New Berserk Anime Airs in July.

Berserk animeThe full main cast for the upcoming Berserk anime TV series was announced alongside the month for the pilot episode – July. The news came out in this year’s seventh Young Animal issue (published by Hakusensha). The author, Kentarou Miura, hinted that the series will focus on previously not-adapted arcs featuring Guts in his Black Swordsman times. This look appears only in chapters unrelated to the previously adapted series and movie trilogy. The only appearance could be seen in the first and very last episodes of the original series from 1997.

The new series will begin in July, and will feature the following seiyuu:

Hiroaki Iwanaga as Guts
Kaoru Mizuhara as Puck
Yōko Hikasa as Farnese
Kazuyuki Okitsu as Serpico
Hiro Shimono as Isidro
Hiroki Yasumoto as Azan
Toa Yukinari as Casca
Takahiro Sakurai as Griffith
Akio Ohtsuka as Skull Knight
Unshou Ishizuka as Narrator

Surely, some names will sound familiar, others not. This is due to the difference in the character combination in other arcs of the manga. Meanwhile, Hakusensha announced that the 38th volume of the manga will be published on 24th June.

Find out more on the official website soon, meanwhile don’t forget to comment about your overall opinion on the Berserk saga and all the related adaptations. Do you think a new one, a long-awaited adaptation of other arcs, will be a good move?

  1. I stopped following Berserk some time ago… Fantasy got out of hand there…at least for me :) Seems like there are still quite a few fans, though
