Takuya Mitsuda’s Manga Major Returns after Five Years

major manga baseballTakuya Mitsuda has announced that he will be restarting his baseball manga series Major. The title has been on hiatus since 2010. The project will run in the weekly Shounen Sunday magazine, published by Shogakukan with chapter one coming out in March.
This project already inspired six full TV anime seasons starting from 2004 and finishing in 2010.

The story first started in 1994 and continued until 2010. In 2010, the author left us with the impression that there will be nothing more to be read about Goro Honda and his strive to become a professional baseball player after his late father. However, five years later, the same magazine announces that a new chapter will be released.

The Major manga also inspired an OVA project and a movie, entitled Major: yuujou no Winning Shot.
