V Jump magazine by Shueisha publishing is coming out this April with news of Kingdom anime’s ending. The adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara’s historical manga. This second season began in June 2013 and will officially end on 1st of March 2014.
Both seasons of the anime follow the same structure – they start in June and end in their 38th and 39th episode.
Kingdom is a story which is based on and during China’s Warring States period (between 475 and 221 BCE). The anime and the manga on which it is based revolve around the life of an emperor’s son and a future emperor himself, around the state in which intrigues and action happen on a daily basis. The manga has been in publishing since 26th of January, 2006 in the publisher’s Young Jump magazine. The anime’s production is by studio NHK and directing it is Jun Kamiya whose previous work includes mainly occasional jobs in popular shows such as Bleach, Naruto Shippuuden and Hikaru no Go.
