Manga Taisho Awards – 7th Edition Nominations

taisho manga awardsThe manga nominations for this year’s Taisho Awards (Cartoon Grand Prize) were officially announced earlier today. Action, folklore, music and fantasy are all competing for one of Japan’s most renowned titles.

The committee that awards the best manga is composed of bookstore staffers. All manga titles that have been published in 2013 and have less than 8 volumes as a whole are eligible. Last year the winner was Akimi Yoshida with “Umimachi Diary’.

The winner will be announced on the award ceremony. It will be held on 27th March 2014. Some of the nominated series also also available in English (One-punch Man, The Bride’s Stories, The Seven Deadly Sins.)
