New Sailor Moon WILL NOT Be a Remake

The new Sailor Moon anime will not be a remake of the original series, announce in a press release TOEI Animation’s producer Atsutoshi Umezawa. Also, the show will begin in July 2014!

Umezawa-san also said that instead of adapting the previous series, the team will be adapting the original manga by Naoko Takeuchi from scratch. This is definitely a big challenge and I am wishing them good luck because I know this show has brought many romantic moments and dreams to humans.

One Piece’s director Munehisa Sakai will be in charge  of the new Sailor Moon. He noted that there is even a personal reason for which the project is special to him – the original series started in the same year he began his career at TOEI.

Yuuji Kobayashi (Saint Seiya Omega) will be supervising the scripts for this project while Momoiro Clover Z will perform the theme song.

  1. I find it pointless. I still consider it a remake. It’s not adding nothing new. I love sailor moon but I’m not looking forward for the “new series. Just like dragon ball kai >_<.
