Final Sailor Moon Manga Volume Sets Records in the US

new sailor moon anime The final volume of Naoko Takeuchi’s popular manga Sailor Moon (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon) topped the sales charts for the first week of July in the US, defeating titles such as Naruto, Ao no Exorcist, The Walking Dead and others. Let me remind you that Takeuchi-sensei’s Sailor Moon saga will have a new anime adaptation.

The information comes from Nielsen BookScan’s list of top 20 graphic novels in American bookstores for the month of July.

  1. I don’t mind “Sailor Moon” but I think the fact that there is so much noise around it now is due to great PR. Hope the new series live up to the expectations both quality- and sales-wise.

  2. Proving me right again…US market dictates rules in the anime industry. Next time you see only idiocy for the next season, don’t wonder why.
