Danchi Tomoo Manga Gets Anime

Danchi Tomoo is a comedy manga by mangaka Tobira Oda. It tells the story of a student in a Japanese school and his many adventures with the people from his apartment building and school. Details on the adaptation will be released on January 28, 2013 in Shogakukan’s big Comic Spirits magazine.

Manga magazine Big Comic Spirits has been publishing the manga by Oda-sensei since its first chapter in 2004. The story has been nominated for the prestigious Osamu Tezuka award three times in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

The story in detail:

Tomoo is a fourth-grader in a Japanese school and lives with his mother and older sister (his father is alive, but working far away) in a danchi – a high-rise apartment building. Being whiny, easily agitated, not the brightest and extremely playful, Tomoo is always going on an adventure no matter the time and place. All his (mainly misfortunate) adventures with his friends and neighbours are spread-out in front of our eyes in each new chapter of the original manga by Tobira Oda.
