Social Kingdom Sets an Official World Record. Did You Participate?

social kingdom eiichiro odaSocial Kingdom – the world record project has finally been announced as a complete success. The idea of this entire thing was to make as many people as possible to participate in an official redrawing of Kingdom’s volume 26. Mangaka, seiyuu and fans all took part in what has become the new Guinness World Record for “Manga Written by the Most People”.

I have followed the project since it began and I have to say that it has been a marvellous experience. Eiichiro Oda (left), Masashi Kishimoto, Takehiko Inoue and Hirohiko Araki all redrew a page from the original vol. 26. Seiyuu Rie Kugimiya, Jun Fukuyama also participated. All in all, 1,087 people took part in the project and their names (or nicknames) will be written in history as one of the many who set this official Guinness World record which has been accepted on December 12.

Fans and participants would be able to have a look at the certificate at this year’s Jump Festa (December 22-23), where it will be exhibited at the Kingdom booth.
