A Letter to Momo Wins Best Animated Picture Award at the APSAs

Sudio Ghibli’s From Up on Poppy Hill (Goro Miyazaki), Studio Chizu’s Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (Mamoru Hosoda), TOEI Entertainment’s Niji-Iro Hotaru ~Eien no Natsu Yasumi~ (Kounosuke Uda) and Warner Bros.’s Happy Feet Two (George Miller) were the other competitors for the 2012 Asian Pacific Screen Award for Best Animated Feature Film. Momo e no Tegami (A Letter to Momo) is the first Japanese production to win the award since 2007’s 5cm per Second by Makoto Shinkai.

The story of this anime revolves around the young girl named Momo and her struggle to find a way to overcome her fathers sudden and untimely death. While she has to move to the country side, she does not expect to find many new friends at her new home. Her friends, though, are not human, but a sort of monsters… the good-natured one!

This 6th year of the APSAs was held on Friday in Brisbane, AUS.
