Voice Actor Taro Arakawa Passes Away

Taro Arakawa was the voice actor of Sazae-san’s Norisuke Namino and multiple background roles in various anime series and movies as well as a very popular dub-actor for foreign movies. He began his career more than thirty years ago in 1977 with the role of Dan Gorobee in Gasshin Sentai Mechander Robo. He died at the age of 56. The reason for his untimely passing is multiple organ failure.

Taro Arakawa, born Yasuo Satou, leaves a wife behind and many roles in history of anime in shows such as Yu Yu Hakusho, Detective Conan and more.

Norisuke was previously played by the late v.a. Ichirou Murakoshi. After Arakawa, the character is played by Yasunori Matsumoto.
