After “One Piece Episode of Nami: Koukaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna” (One Piece Episode of Nami: Tears of a Navigator and the Bonds of Friends) another one of the first chapters (this time the very FIRST one) of the manga by Eiichiro Oda will be getting a special remake of the animation. The new episode will be called “One Piece Episode of Luffy: Hand Island no Bouken” (One Piece Episode of Luffy: The Hand Island Adventure) and will air on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 9 o’clock p.m.
This new animation will be made by the same team as the Episode of Nami, but will not be entirely centred on the already known story of Luffy and the beginning of his path to the Grand Line and the title of King of the Pirate world. Instead, it will incorporate the manga’s chapter 1 into a special story about his adventure on the “Hand Island”. The filler arc is not present in the manga obviously) but is also created by Eiichiro Oda. Additionally, the production is also supervised by Oda-san.
What the story will be is a little prequel to the One Piece Film: Z (also coming out in Japan on December 15). There will also be the two favourite secondary characters of Helmeppo and Coby, who we will see as respectively Lieutenant Commander and Captain.
While Oda is working on character design together with Shizuka Kudou, Hiroyuki Morita and Mitsuru Hongo are working as a directing team.
I can’t help but wonder if all arcs about the joining of the members will be remade in a similar way…
