Record after record is what the newly released Rurouni Kenshin achieves. With the first weekend of the movie is over, we can happily note that there were 555,476,800 yen (5,640,922 euro) earnings from the tickets in the first 5 days of the screenings.
The movie came out this August 25, but there were three days of pre-screenings for special ticket holders and guests.
The ~5,640,922 euro is a record for Japan, but the worldwide one is held steadily by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows II (~385,718,523 euro)
329 were the times the movie was screened during the past weekend.
424,143 is the total tickets sold during the first five days of the movie’s life in Japanese cinema.
Sadly, it’s either my English or the source, but I couldn’t find the previous record holder. If anyone knows the answer – I would be happy to read it!
