Dragon Ball Gets Adapted into a New Movie! (UPDATED)

dragon ball movieThe Dragon Ball manga by Akira Toriyama is going to have a new movie adaptation with chibi versions of Goten and Trunks. It will also be officially supervised by the creator himself.

The news was released by Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump and there is already a website, dedicated to the project. A countdown has been started and about three days are left until we get to understand more details about the project. The project will launch on March 30, 2013

The movie will be directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun and some Dragon Ball Z eps), while TOEI animation studios is taking charge of the entire animation process. Yuusuke Watanabe (Gantz) will be the screenwriter for the upcoming new movie. Lead animation director is Tadayoshi Yamamuro, famous for his work in the same position in previous Dragon Ball movies such as Dragon Ball 3,4 and the Dragon Ball Z Movie 4.
