Maaya Sakamoto’s “More than Words” Single and Boukoku no Akito Theme Streamed (Video)

The official YouTube Channel for popular Japanese singer Maaya Sakamoto has just shared a 1:43min version of her single “More than Words”. The song is composed by Yoko Kanno. It will be the main theme song for the upcoming Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito installment of the Geass franchise. Click below to watch the video!

The single will be released on the market this July 25. The regular edition of the disc will cost 1155 Japanese yen (€11.61) while the limited edition, which includes the full video of the song, will be priced at 1680 Japanese yen (€16.88). Disclaimer: prices in euro are not official, just a mere estimate based on the current rates.

  1. I really like the song.

    Those who don’t were probably expecting a more rocking tune, but that’s a matter of preference.

    It’s also misleading: a more somber and bittersweet song like this one is perfect for the story of the OVA

    1. Why? There have been other openings with a similar tone before.

      Something more exciting wouldn’t have “more personality” here, it would only be missing the point.

      1. I can certainly agree there have been many songs with a similar tone… If that’s your defence for this, I rest my case…
