The RPG game Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor‘s manga adaptation has just been launched in Monthly Shounen Sirius magazine (published by Kodansha). The mangaka is WARASIBE’s Satoru Matsuba, while character design’s credited to the original Atlus game’s designer Suzuhito Yasuda.

The new story follows the RPG and revolves around a monster invasion to the city of Tokyo. The creatures, that have never been encountered before and are causing huge issues for the Japanese people, came through the portable playing console COMP and have started attacking humans. This is also why the Japanese capital has been quarantine. We enter the story, witnessing the life-or-death battles of a group of teenagers and the hardships they encounter.

  1. Wonder if they’ll keep all the characters from the game… It’s fun in an RPG but in my opinion, most game adaptations suffer from ‘characters overload’, where the people become too many to have substance and story developed…

    1. True. It’s easy to assume that could happen to an adaptation where the lead character’s name is “Protagonist”

  2. Once I have a child and it asks me for a game console – this is what I’ll play to him! Thanks! :D

    1. :D I can imagine it – Ok, son, but just see what those things can do… :D Honestly, I think I’ll watch it.
