Kubbe Children’s Book to Be Animated (Video)

Norwegian author Åshild Kanstad Johnsen’s popular children’s book Kubbe will be adapted into anime series by TMS Entertainment (Detective Conan, Lupin III, Zetman).

The original Norwegian title of the book is Kubbe Lager Museum while the Japanese translation provided is Kubbe no Hakubutsukan. In English it is known as Block Makes a Museum.

The following is a promotional video for the Japanese release of the book. It was directed by Mardock Scramble: First Compressions’ Tetsuro Kodama.

The story revolves around Kubbe or Block who is a very adventurous character. Being an admirer of various items, Kubbe (Block) is a true collector. Keeping all things he finds, though, turns out to be a heavy job as he soon understands that it is impossible to continue stacking everything in the boxes he used. Kubbe (Block) decides to make his own bathroom into a museum of all the great things he had gathered, but having to queue for his bathroom is also quite annoying.

  1. WOW! Great work. It was so visually multicultural. That only shows that Japanese artists have the needed respect to other’s authenticity.
