Mardock Scramble: The First Compression with a UK Release on Monday

Mardock Scramble: The First Compression is the first part of a trilogy of animated movie adaptations of Tow Ubukata’s novels about a young prostitute by the name of Rune Ballot. The official Japanese version of the first part of the trilogy was released in 2010, while each new instalment comes out yearly.

The English version of the movies will be released by the British company Kaze UK (Manga Entertainment). It will be available starting Monday, April 16, 2012 at the following prices:

DVD for £19.99

Blu-ray Disc for £24.99

The package in both DVD and BD will include two version of the film : a 62-minute-long director’s cut and an explicit director’s cut (66 mins). The item will have an 18+ rating as a whole, although the 62-minute-long cut is rated 15.

The story revolves, as I’ve already mentioned, around Rune Ballot who is a young prostitute whose life takes a sudden U-turn after she is caught in a vast explosion. As a single chance to be kept alive, she is turned into a cyborg and from there her new life as an avenger begins.
