Rurouni Kenshin Live Action Movie Trailer Streamed (Video)

A new video is available for the upcoming Rurouni Kenshin live-action adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s manga from back in the ’90s of the XX century. A lot of action and katana, as well as the very first meeting of Himura Kenshin and Kaoru Kamiya are included in the video, which is available below.

As seen in the video above, Rurouni Kenshin, the live-action movies, will come out in theatres in Japan on August 25, 2012. Kamen Rider Den’o’s Takeru Sato and Emi Takei will take the leading roles of Himura Kenshin and Kaoru Kamiya.

Keishi Ootomo is in charge of the direction of the project.

Judging by this trailer, I am actually interested in the movie. Maybe it’s my fascination towards Japanese history and katana, as well as my sentimental feelings for Rurouni Kenshin as a whole (it being one of the first ever manga series that I managed to read in its entirety), but it is starting to look like a movie that I would watch even if it wasn’t related to anime. What about you? Are you feeling the urge to laugh at my statement or did you enjoy the trailer too?

    1. It’s typical Japanese-style acting put into a large production… Hope it’ll work and they won’t look “lost in translation”.

  1. Rurouni still lives… He makes people hate the movie and reconsider in a minuie and nine seconds. Impressive.

  2. I was going to start complaining on the actor’s “inappropriate” looks, but… the action scenes fixed my issue. Will give it a chance.
