Funimation News: Sengoku Basara: The Last Party and Level E

Two new shows have been licensed for a North American release through the net of Funimation Entertainment. The definite comedy of a year ago – Level E – will definitely be a selling item, while the movie Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings is going to be a favourite. Mark my words.

I have written and said quite a lot on the topic titled “Level E”. It was a promising show with a terrible ending, in my opinion. Altogether, a beautiful comedy with a lot of sci-fi and tongue-in-cheek humour, this show was something I enjoyed for most of the time. However, the story of Baka Ouji is still one I am puzzled about.

For the full anime review of Level E, you can check The Shinigami List’s Review.

Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings is the official English title of the popular TV series that are based on the historical action game by Campcom Sengoku Basara. The show is one of my favourites and is also reviewed in The Shinigami List. However, the new acquisiting by Funimation Entertainment is the movie going by (almost) the same name. In common Otaku world, it is known as Sengoku Basara:  The Last Party and I am definitely ushering you all to buy it since it is going to be licensed in English!

Level E’s  episodes will be streamed on the official website starting March 2012, while Sengoku Barasa: The Last Party will be available at the very end of the current year.

  1. I don’t agree with the “Samurai Kings” it’s totally incorrect to impose the title “king” on the warlords of Japan. Sengoku Extravagance is a much better title. If found too unpopular for the masses, they should’ve thought of something like Lords of the Warring States.

    It’s just me, though. :)
