Yoshiki from X Japan to Write this Year’s Golden Globes Theme Song

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has just confirmed that the Japanese rock musician Yoshiki, famous for being the co-founder of the j-rock band X Japan, will be composing the theme music for the upcoming 69th Golden Globes awards ceremony. The show itself will be held in California’s Beverlhy Hills on January 15th.

Having written for various movies and television shows in the past, Yoshiki is a definite professional when it comes to themes. Although his first attendance at the Golden Globes was just last year, it doesn’t seem to frighten the organizers. With his abilities in both piano playing and drumming, the fact that his band managed to sell over 30,000,000 copies of their albums worldwide, this year’s them of the Globes is definitely expected to be something original and of a high quality.

Apart of being a renowned musician, Yoshiki is also a generous person who was not afraid to give out money and platform to the children with bone marrow disease through his own non-profit organization – the Yoshiki Foundation. Recently, though, due to the increased need in the earthquake-stricken areas in Japan, the organization’s focus has changed into the victims of the March 11 Earthquake.
