Sentai Filmworks Licenses Ghibli’s Grave of the Fireflies

Okay, that is a true candy for me… Being an avid fan of the Grave of the Fireflies movie by Studio Ghibli, I am very happy to read and announce to you that this same project will be taken on by Sentai Filmworks. The film was directed by Isao Takahata and produced by Studio Ghibli when it first came out in 2005. It is based on the autobiographical novel by Akiyuki Nosaka where he speaks of the hardships of a young boy in the last weeks of the Second World War. He, together with his baby sister, needs to learn how to survive without a home and parents as both these important factors are taken away from them by the war.

You can read about Grave of the Fireflies in The List.

  1. Orochimaru (“Naruto”, duuh): I’ve seen many orphans of war. It’s pitiful. I might as well put them out of their misery…

    1. I am so not liking this (although I almost did)! Do you know how many wars we have in my dimension? ZERO. I cannot like this… I have no opinion. I like GotF because it feels better to me than the usual war movie… And I like the little fluffy girl!
