Yamato 2199 News: Anime and Movie (Video)

I have intentionally ignored the Yamato news that were coming out from all over the internet, because I knew what was coming. Now, I can not only tell you that the first Yamato anime television series is to become reality, but that the preview of it will be a whole theatrical project of about 50 minutes!

Yes, Yamato fans – rejoice for the franchise that managed to take the breath of so many before you (and still does when rewatched) is to come back… with a bang.

Below is also a trailer that was released yesterday.

The last show of this franchise was about 30 years ago when the  Uchuu Senkan Yamato 3 (Star Blazers: The Bolar Wars) was released. After this, there was only the memory of when the fans of the genre would wait for a new episode regularly and not very patiently. Now, so many decades after this last instalment, the franchise is coming back with a bang – an anime television series and a full movie of about 50 minutes.

The TV series will be all about Yamato, the space adventures and clashes that people from the past loved so much. Yamato 2199 It will have almost the same setting and theme as the very first Space Battleships Yamato show that aired in Japan almost 40 years ago in 1974.As far as the information goes, the plans are to have the anime’s broadcasting launched from April 7 2012.

The movie will be available for the fans in ten Japanese cinemas and will be long a bit under an hour. It character is more of a preview/bait since it will retell the first two episodes of the upcoming series.

    1. Good luck. I hope they make some kind of a revamped release of the originals, too. After all, I hate time-travelling since I don’t know what may happen to the items I bring with me. Too risky.
