Winter Anime Season 2011/2012: Recorder to Randoseru

As Shinigami-sama already informed you, 05 January 2012 is the time to see the new school/seinen TV series Recorder to Randoseru, based on the Yonkoma (four panel) manga by Meme Higashiya. Let’s get to the bottom of it…

So…Miyagawa Atsushi is an 11-year-old boy, who’s 180 cm-tall and is always running into trouble. Weirdly enough, his 17-year-old sister, called Atsumi is barely 134 cm in height and actually takes care of him.

CAST:

Rie Kugimiya as Atsumi Miyagawa
Ryotaro Okiayu as Atsushi Miyagawa

Aya Gouda as Takumi
Aya Hirano as Sayo
Aya Uchida as Hina-chan
Nanami Kashiyama as Midori-chan
Sayako Toujou as Jun-chan
Tomoe Tamiyasu as Moriyama Sensei
Yoshino Nanjou as Tetsuya

Hit? Even if not listed as its characteristic, I believe lovers of the Slice-of-Life genre will fall for this teary-eyed and weird couple. The characters seem unusual enough to make you like them and to awaken your curiosity about what will happen to them and how do they manage their day-to-day activities.

Miss? I believe that if you love action and typical shounen, you’ll probably hate this. If you’re also a bit sceptic about a 4-panel turning into an anime, I have nothing to tell you and change your mind before the start of the series…

    1. Seinen are usually the lovely anime I enjoy the most from samurai ones to actions. They lack the excessive erotic vibe that the manga have usually, so it’s fine. The anime is primetime stuff, they can’t let it be overly erotic. Don’t worry.

  1. Thank you Death Scythe, my dear, for another great preview. This one is a story I would personally hate to see animated, but I bet it could also be my guilty pleasure if it ends up being well made. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how this goes.
