Major Baseball Manga with a New OVA

According to the information given in this week’s Shounen Sunday, published by Shogakukan, Major baseball manga by Takuya Mitsuda will get a new original video anime which is supposed to be “truly the last” one. It will premiere in the middle of December 2011 and will bundle with a cool new tankoubon of the manga.

The OVA will be an animated adaptation of the yet unadapted World Series arc together with the final match between our hero’s squad and the adversary baseball team.It is the final act of the story of Gorou, the son of a famous baseball player (a batter) who wants to make it big in the same game as his old man. It has been serialized in the magazine since 1994 and for 16 years has been published until in 2010 it finished.

  1. Most of my cousins are crazy about sports anime, so that’s a household favourite for some time now. They’ve managed to keep the franchise on quite a good level, so I hope that’s not really the last one ;)

  3. All 6 seasons plus the OVA were quite good, considering the fact that ou have to like that type of story, so I’ll watch it with pleasure. :)
