The upcoming film based on the extremely popular 1997-1998 television anime series is to come out somewhere around the beginning of 2012 and is entitled Berserk Ougon Judai-Hen I: Haou no Tamago (unofficial translation: Berserk the Golden Age I: Egg of the Supreme King). It will be an adaptation of the manga arc for the Golden Age that was serialized in 1989. A lot of news have come out recently including the name of the composer for the soundtracks and also some details about a little collaboration between the film and Capcom’s Dragon Dogma.
The theme song of the upcoming film will be composed by Susumu Hirasawa (Paprika, Paranoia Agent) and the soundtrack shall be created by Shiro Sagisu (Evangelion, Bleach for which he won the “Best Music” award at 2010 Tokyo Anime Awards).
The other news came directly from Tokyo Game Show’s scene. The producers of Berserk the Golden Age I and game developers Capcom announced that the weapons and armor from the movie are about to come into life also in the game field. The items will be used in the Dragon Dogma product. The collaboration doesn’t come as a surprise, though. After all, the team working on Dragon’s Dogma is composed of fans of the original Berserk manga, even the producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Sengoku Basara, Resident Evil and Devil May Cry).
