Isao Takahata, the director of some of Studio Ghibli’s most popular and cherished movies including Grave of the Fireflies and Only Yesterday, has finally admitted that he is currently working on a new project. He had to add, though, that we might still wait around two years until it is fully completed and ready for the public. This happened at an exhibition organized at the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Japanese capital Tokyo. Except this news, the guests could also enjoy the marvelous works by Frederic Back in collaboration with Ghibli.
The last movie directed by Takahata was My Neighbours the Yamada happened about twelve years ago.
Seems like Ghibli are currently working on a lot of new projects, considering the recent news that even Hayao Miyazaki is working on something new that is supposedly some kind of a biography, though we are still in the dark if it is Miyazaki’s autobiography or somebody else’s.
