Ghibli’s Toshio Suzuki Creates Sumi-e Inspired Animation Vid

One of the big three in Studio Ghibli – Toshio Suzuki – has drawn an incredibly cute and inspiring animation for the Nisshin company’s new advertisement, which has already aired in Japan. The main character Konyara is joined by its smaller version – Ko-konyara. This is the second collaboration of the director and the website since a video in 2010.

Nizo Yamamoto from Ghibli Works on Etrian Odyssey IV RPG

Nizo Yamamoto, art director of Ghibli’s Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke and Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo (The Girl Who Leapt through Time), is working on the background animation of the upcoming Atlus release entitled “Etrian Odyssey IV: The Legendary God” (Sekaiju no Meikyuu (世界樹の迷宮) ).

Studio Ghibli’s Great Three to Receive Honorary Degrees

Hayao Miyazaki, Toshio Suzuki and Isao Takahata, also known as the great three of the studio, are going to receive a special Honorary Degree by the Rhode Island School of Design. The creators of such shows as Ponyo, My Neighbour Totoro and Spirited Away are going to be named Honorary members of the Elite College at a ceremony that will happen this June 2.
