Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex and K-ON! are without a doubt two of the most watched and admired anime shows in the world. Although being as different as they could be, these two are often in the top lists of the same people… just because being an anime fan often means being a fan of a shounen, a shoujo, a seinen and a Ghibli at the same time. Now, the otaku’s time being away of their favourite characters has been shortened for two new phone games have been announced in Japan! Yes, the two very different anime are getting their own player-aimed adaptations this week!

Cyborg 009 Manga with a 9th Adaptation (Video)
Yes, you heard me right, Cyborg 009 manga series by Shotaro Ishinomori (Gilgamesh, Legend of Zelda) will get a 9th adaptation. Just as promised, Kenji Kamiyama announced the new project just a few hours ago at the screening of Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. Solid State Society 3D at Tokyo Shinjuku’s Ward 9 theatre. The classic sci-fi story will be adapted into a movie and is set to premiere in theatres across Japan when the 2012 Fall season comes.
The announcement could’ve been seen in all the simulcasts mentioned in the quoted post.

Second Appleseed XIII Movie (Video)
Appleseed XII is a new adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s (Ghost in the Shell) manga by the same name. The original story, published by Kodansha, is a futuristic world with a very big military influence. The manga has already sprung a video anime, two digitally animated movies and this, second movie whose theatrical release in Japan will be on October 24, 2011. Currently, the first three volumes of the video project are on the market.

New Project by Kenji Kamiyama to be Revealed on Simulcast
Kenji Kamiyama’s (Ghost in the Shell, Blood the Last Vampire, Eden of the East) new project will be revealed online and live-streamed through by all three Youtube, UStream and Nico Nico Douga online broadcasters. The event will be held in Tokyo on October 4 at 8:30 p.m. local time (11:30am GMT). In addition to the new announcement, there will also be a special broadcast of the 2d version of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society entirely for free. The event will happen live in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Wald 9 Theatre , but will also be simulcasted in Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka and Sapporo via satellite feed.
