Two Happy Couples Marry on 11/11/11

There hasn’t been such a “Yes” day in history since probably the last time 11/11/11 occurred exactly a hundred years ago. You probably know, since in every country it seems to be so, that yesterday’s most fashionable thing was to marry. The date with the six ones was chosen as their wedding day by many couples worldwide. So, why would Japan be an exception? The country that is undoubtedly one of, if not the, most eccentric place on earth.

The big anime news is that not one, but two related weddings happened yesterday!

Top 10 Anime Weapons I Would Love to Have

Anime is famous for certain things among the fans of visual arts as a whole. One of these things is the looks of female characters – big bright eyes, cool artificially looking natural hair colours, pretty uniforms or great mecha-driving abilities. Some special machines, or otherwise understood as a controllable robot device with a driver, are another one of these things. They can transform, harm and cure, they have been around the world for generations (who hasn’t seen Voltron, based on two great Japanese stories?). The thing I am going to give my respects to this time, though, is neither moe nor a mecha. It is the weapons in anime as a whole. This is my list of top 10 anime weapons I would love to have.

Darker than Black – a Really Good Combination of Sci-Fi and Everyday Life REVIEW

Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha (黒の契約者) is one of the most popular and cherished anime of the last years. It is also very well thought and a real gem within those series that are the origin of a manga and not the vice-versa. Having started it and stopped watching several times before actually getting attached to it, I would have to say that this anime is one really good anime with a lot more to have given to the viewers than what we got in Darker than Black : Ryuusei no Gemini (流星の双子(ジェミニ)…

Square Enix and Yahoo! with new Game

According to an official announcement from the official Yahoo! Japan website, there will be a new collaboration between the portal and one of the biggest Japanese game companies Square Enix. All the information that was given is that the project will be a big-scale game and that more details will be available on October 5, 2011. That shall be the second collaboration between the two companies with the first one being Sengoku IXA – a browser-based game based in the reality of the very popular Warring Era of Japan (sengoku).

Top 5 Chinese Characters in Anime

I know what you’re going to say now: Oh, no, another typical top 5. Well, sorry to disappoint you, as always, your very own Shinigami will not be typical nor boring. This will not be a classic top 5 of handsome male Chinese characters or most terrifying Chinese characters neither will it be a sexiest top 5 female Chinese characters in anime. This will be my very own, personal top 5 chart of both male and female Chinese characters in Japanese animation (anime).
