Shueisha’s Jump Square announced that Nobuhiro Watsuki, the original creator of Rurouni Kenshin, will release a new spinoff manga. This time, the mangaka’s wife Kaoru Kurosaki will also help in creating the two-chapter story entitled Rurouni Kenshin Ibun: Ashitarou Zenka Ari (roughly translated into Rurouni Kenshin Variant Story: The Criminal Ashitarou).
The special manga commemorating the anniversary united a total of 24 mangaka and other authors linked to the anime and manga industry (you can see all names below). Its full title is: 手塚治虫文化賞20周年記念MOOK マンガのDNA ―マンガの神様の意思を継ぐ者たち―, which would be read as “20th Anniversary of the Osamu Tezuka Culture Award MOOK – DNA of Manga – Those who inherited God’s Intention for Manga”. It is published by Asahi Shimbun.
