Continue reading »]]> Mahou Sensei Negima! has had its first ending in the final chapter of the 38th compiled volume that was published just recently (Thursday, May 17th, 2012) in Weekly Shounen Magazine. Do not fret to worry, though. Ken Akamatsu, the author of the series, has said that there is work and story for at least 100 more volumes and that this is just a temporary cease in the publishing of the manga.

Everyone, thank you for your long-lasting patronage. “Mahou Sensei Negima!” which has continued for 9 years, will come to a temporary stop at volume 38. By “temporary”, I mean the series will be revived sooner or later. To put it like Chao, the conclusion shown in this volume is merely one of several parallel worlds. “Negima!” still has far more undiscovered mysteries that would easily surpass 100 volumes in length (lol). However, given that the multimedia franchise has met a thorough completion and that I was able to see the “B Version Ending” in the movie, I decided to depict a conclusion for the original story as well. If, in the future, you happen to see a new episode of “Negima!”, I would be ever grateful if you could take it into your hands. One of your remaining questions may just melt away.

Continue reading »]]> Toonami, the anime block on Adult Swim is returning this month and it will bring along a lot of the best current-day anime as well as the most famous ones (because they are not necessarily the best). The upcoming Saurday, May 26 will turn out to be a party-worthy day for everyone who will be bale to watch anime on Toonami. Oh the joy!

Toonami was erased from anime history in 2008 after making otaku happy for 11 years. It was a shock to the community, but at the time there was not enough action against this, obviously, as the one otaku took against the removal of FUNimation Channel from Verizon.

Toonami was played by Adult Swim on April 1, 2012. This was explained by the staff as an ‘April Fools’ joke, but in fact was an obvious research of how much would such a block be watched if it existed these days. Naturally, the ‘prank’ was a success and the company has decided to bring Toonami back for the time being. The shows that are expected are not something entirely new and strange, but rather the good-strong-popular shows such as Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist. If this tendency will continue after the seasons are over (if Toonami stays that is), it is still unknown. The schedules released by some TV guides give us some pretty known names, but Adult Swim has promised an entirely new and original anime programming.

The block will be shownweekly on Saturdays from 00:00 to 06:00am local time.

This is a third-party schedule and not an official one from Adult Swim nor Cartoon Network or anything related. The official websites list no information such as this, but it is still quite reliable.

A song made from a self-classified as nerdcore rapper Richie Branson. ‘Bring Back Toonami’ is a sweet plea for the return of the program that was released on May 8 and since then has not only caught the eye of Adult Swim itself, but also been included into ads.

Continue reading »]]> Sung Woo Park and Dal Young Im’s Kurokami (黒神) manga will be the next one to ‘bite the dust’ after many shows and stories that did it this year. The final chapter will be published in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine where it has been published since 2004.

The news was announced in  the magazine’s 11th issue.The 19th final volume of the manga will be released  on August 25, 2012 by Square Enix.

The manga tells a story of worldly equilibrium, the guardians of this balance and a few common, ordinary Japanese students. Keita Ibuki’s life changes after meeting a mysterious girl at a ramen stall.

Girls & Panzer will be an autumn anime series which will centre around high school girls that drive tanks and participate in specific competitions. Continue reading »]]> Manga UK has released a special promotional video for its upcoming release of Angel Beats! the complete series. There will be both DVD and Blu-ray Disk releases. The anime will be available for UK purchases starting June 25, 2012. You can see the video below.

Angel Beats has been running for 13 episodes in 2010. Two special episodes were also officially released. The show is the fruit bored by Jun Maeda’s great mind. He is also the author of many music pieces throughout the anime world as well as the manga of Clannad, Air and Hibiki no Mahou

Continue reading »]]> Nazo no Kanojo X (a.k.a. Mysterious Girlfriend X) is getting its idea adapted into an original novel book! The topic will, once more, be about the odd love between a female and a male Japanese high school students. The title of this project is Mysterious Girlfriend X: Mysterious Novel Version and will come out in Japan this June 1.

The plot revolves around a strap of a sort (I do hope it is rather a phone strap than a brassier one) that can make a person fall in love with the one who gives it to him/her. The relationship that will e given life to, will last forever… or at least that’s how the myth says. Everything about its special purpose and abilities should be kept a secret.Main character Akira Tsubaki will be having a rough time.

Writing the novel will be Chihaya Satou (though I couldn’t find anything about such a person and if you see me mistaking this: “小説は  佐藤ちはやが執筆する。” , please correct me!), while Riichi Ueshiba will do the illustrations.

Continue reading »]]> The third anime short of online project Busou Chuugakusei Basket Army (usually translated as Armed Middle School Student Basket Army) has been released on its official website. It keeps the mood and effects of the original two episodes that came out in February and in December. The video is available below.

The story of this anime is written by popular game screenwriter Kingdom Hearts, Black Rock Shooter and Final Fantasy installments. Soundtrack and general music is by the famous Japanese composer Kenji Kawai (Eden of the East and Death Note amongst other projects).

Continue reading »]]> A 50-minute-long trailer for the upcoming anime movie Niji-iro Hotaru: Eien no Natsuyasumi has been released together with a video that represents the main ideas of the project, together with special messages left by the audience present at the screening on 03.04.2012 (April 3) in Oufunato city. Both videos are available below.

Niji-iro Hotaru: Eien no Natsuyasumi is a movie adaptation of a novel by Masayuki Kawaguchi that was released in 2007. The main character in the story, Yuuta, is a young boy who ends up time-travelling to a city that existed about three decades before the boy’s original time. Yuuta lives happily in this village, discovers Nature, Friendship and Love.

Niji-iro Hotaru: Eien no Natsuyasumi comes out in theatres across Japan on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
