The Blame! manga by Tsutomu Nihei will be animated into a movie. The production is handled by experienced hands – Polygon Pictures. The news came as a great farewell gift for the Sidonia no Kishi (Knights of Sidonia) fans, as it was officially written on the wraparound cover of the last volume of the manga (15th).
Blame! is a seinen, science-fiction story about a man named Killy. He seeks special Genes, via more than just violence – he is ready to shoot anything that might present danger with his overpowered gun. While he seeks the most exceptional of those treasures, he meets many people who strive to survive in the same post-apocalyptic ruin of a world. In reality, the multitude of separated communities is large, but which one hides the valuable information, we have to discover on the way.
The manga has been in print between 1998 and 2003 and has manage to stay on the top of the favourites’ list of many sci-fi loving otaku.
Polygon Pictures has already worked on several sci-fi projects including the adaptation of Sidonia no Kishi and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.
Do you think this will work? With Polygon’s experience, it shouldn’t be a problem… or?
