Sunny Manga by Taiyou Matsumoto Finale

sunny manga volume 5The original manga series Sunny by Taiyou Matsumoto has ended. The final chapter was released on 27th July, 2015 in Shogakukan’s Gekkan! Spirits. The manga was first launched in the Ikki magazine back in 2010.

Sunny revolves around the growing up of boys in school facilities, including their inner battles and the ones they have with their peers. The story’s evolved way of looking at an otherwise shounen topics in the seinen way has earned it many a faithful followers. It’s mostly appreciated by the fans of realism in manga and anime, as well as the admirers of the more uncommon art often presented by Matsumoto-sensei.

The manga has won a number of awards including acknowledgements in the international competitions such as Great Graphic Novels (2014) and YALSA’s top Graphic Novels for Teens (2014).

This is the author’s less popular manga (according to the MAL online community), falling behind titles such as Tekkon Kinkreet, GoGo Monster, Aoi Haru and the recently animated Ping Pong.
