Sarusuberi: Miss Hokusai (百日紅) is a manga series by Hinako Sugiura which was published between 1983 and 1987. In its three volumes, we followed the life of the famous ukiyoe artist Hokusai and his daughter, Oei. In 2015, we will watch the manga with vivid new colours and mesmerising animation, or so we are promised.

The news of the premiere was just released earlier today on the official twitter account of the project. It will be shown in TOHO theatres, Shinjuku cinema and the Nihonbashi Cinema.

The original work is in the form of short stories and focuses on different events in the life of Hokusai. A key element in his work is the crape myrtle flower which is also considered the main topic of the original manga.
