This year’s Chicago International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF) awarded two anime movies with honours. Sakasama no Patema (Patema Inverted) and Giovanni’s Island won different awards. See below what exactly the US festival thought about the latest movie masterpieces from Japan.
Giovanni’s Island won the Children’s Jury Prize and the Adult Jury Prize in the Animated Feature Film category. Sakasama no Patema, on the other hand, was acknowledged as Youth Jury Prize in the Feature Film category. Another Japanese project won an award – Mari Miyazawa’s animated short “Decoration” won the Children’s Jury Prize in the Animated Short Film category.
This year’s Chicago International Children’s Film Festival ran from 24th October to 2nd November.
