Kuroko no Basuke is ending with its next chapter. Tadatoshi Fujimaki’s manga will finish in the 40th issue of the weekly Shounen Jump magazine (published by Shueisha). It will come out next Monday, 1st September. The news was confirmed by renowned anime, manga and gaming website Anime News Network.
The manga by Fujimaki-sensei began at the end of 2008 and has since given birth to two TV anime series, a special anime and an OVA. A third anime season is expected in 2015.
The story revolves around the so-called Generation of Miracles – a middle school basketball team that was so great, others thought them to be the golden age of their time. After graduating and moving on to high school, their leader Kagami Taiga joins Seirin’s basketball team where he meets Kuroko Tetsuya, one of the worst basketball players Kogami has ever seen. Kogami and Kuroko team-up, using Kuroko’s invisibility on the court to their advantage, and fight against the greatest teams there are – where the other members of the Generation of Miracles play.
So… once this saga is over, what do you think will happen to sports manga genre?
