“Ending Note: The Death of a Japanese Salaryman” creator and director Mami Sunada will be in charge of this year’s Studio Ghibli documentary, which follows directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata as well as producer Toshio Suzuki.
The documentary follows the procedures and events around the creation of the upcoming two movies by Studio Ghibli. Miyazaki’s Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises) will come out on 20th July this year while Takahata’s Kaguya-hime no Monogatari (The Tale of Princess Kaguya) will be released this autumn. Suzuki-sensei has actively participated in both projects. All of the work related to the movies has been filmed and edited into one documentary entitled “Yume to Kyouki no Oukoku” (The Land of Dreams and Insanity) that will be released around the same time as the story of Kaguya-hime.
All three protagonists said that their colleague, Mami Sunada, was invisible during the filming and that it had been a pleasure working on the project.
