The monthly Neppuu Magazine is usually available only in print, but this month’s issue receives a digital release as well. The studio announced that, starting with the October issue coming on Wednesday (print), the media will be available for free online on Ghibli‘s official website.
Providing the fans of the classic animation studio and the usual chaos around the workplace of Isao Takahata, Toshio Suzuki and Hayao Miyazaki, this magazine is a favourite of the anime and manga fans in Japan. Now, even without having to pay a lot for subscription and delivery, everyone would be able to read it! This is a reaction to the complaints that, although available in 40 bookstores, the issues are hard to obtain for many people. Not all f the content, however, will be made available online. Only what has been allowed to be shown for free will be there.
October’s issue, the first one to be released digitally for free, will include: digital VS print media debate, Yomiuri Shimbun Group Representative Director Tsuneo Watanabe on Seiichiro Ujiie, other interviews and opinions, a column by MPD-psycho’s Eiji Ohtsuka.
Everyone would be able to download monthly Neppuu Magazine’s new issue through this page. It is available from November 11, 2012.
