Thermae Romae – Toronto Film Fest Trailer (Video)

thermae romaeThermae Romae is something that the world has never seen before. It is time-travelling with a twist and history with lemon. Mind you, it is not suitable for the feint hearted viewers. The 2012 Toronto International Film Festival trailer is available below. This is the first official English subbed trailer made available to the public.

September 6-16 will be the 37th TIFF. While it is one of the biggest film festivals in North America, it will be marked as the N.A. debut of the Japanese movie Thermae Romae. It tells the story of a great Roman bath architect Lucius who time-travels to modern-day Japan and the local baths where old men get scrubbed in front of a marbled wall.
