One Piece Anime Will Have a Special Nami Episode in August!

グランドライン通信One Piece Episode of Nami: Koukaishi no Namida to Nakama no Kizuna (One Piece Episode of Nami: Tears of a Navigator and the Bonds of Friends) is the title of the special episode that will air on Saturday, August 25, 2012. While OP usually runs on Sundays, this extremely special 2-hour-remake of the navigator’s history will be a nice demo for what is to come from the show in future stories.

The story will revolve around Nami and her past and her ways to manage her own problems. If you remember, we already had this arc on her home island during the gathering session of the Straw Hat pirates a long time ago. Since this was when fishmen were initially presented to the audience and currently we are involved with fishmen again, the production studio has decided that we need a little recap on the story. Nami’s escape from Luffy’s crew in the past, her return home and the clash with the sharkman Aaron who is in charge of her home and everyone on the island will be recreated with new graphics, better animation (according to the announcement) and will be a whole 120-minute-long special episode!

Nami escapes from Luffy in the Going Merry (have you already forgotten about the first ever ship of the Straw Hat pirates? The one that had a cute sheep’s head and was made by the girl Usopp loved at the time?) and returns to Arlong and his crew of East Blue tyrants.

Hmmm…the story was pretty well told in the Arc in my personal opinion. Wonder what surprises do they have in store. :)

Lame…having in mind there WAS an entire Arc. That’s just another name for a 2-hour boring ‘filler’.
