Mardock Scramble Manga Is Over!

Mardock Scramble‘s last chapter has been published in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. The work is by Yoshitoki Ooima that is based on the original novel by Tou Ubukata. It has been published by Kodansha by 2009 and has since given to the sci-fi fans six volumes worth of interesting stories.

The story follows the prostitute Rune Ballot and her eventful life after having her life saved by being turned into a cyborg.

In English, the manga is in print by Kodansha Comics in North America and is already nearing the release of the fifth volume. The novels, on the other hand, were published by Haikasoru by VizMedia in 2011. The movie trilogy is also being released in English – by Sentai Filmworks (US) and Manga UK’s Kaze (UK) just a couple of years after the original Japanese version.

Actually, I quite liked this manga and believe it to be quite underrated. Hope the translation of the movies will gain some popularity for it, even after the manga ended…
