The returning of one of the most beloved samurai manga/anime/ova series, Nobuhiro Watsuki’s Rurouni Kenshin, will be an entirely new story about the battles of Himura Kenshin and his adversaries who are featured in the upcoming live-action movie. This information was released in the latest issue of Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine, where the manga will appear.
Rurouni Kenshin ~Cinema-ban~ will begin in the next issue of the magazine (May 2, 2012) while the movie will be available in Japanese theatres starting August 25, 2012. Everything is a part of a huge project for the revival of Battousai and his story. The two parts of Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-hen (coming out last December and in Summer 2012) also strike as a good chance to relight the flame of passion when it comes to Himura-san, Kaoru-dono and everyone else from the original manga that was published between 1994 and 1999.
