16th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Nominees Announced

The new issue of Asahi Shimbun came out with the six nominees for this year’s 16th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. The 6 titles can be seen below as well as some additional information about publishers and so on. Which one is your favourite for this year’s manga awards?

This year’s committee is composed of some really important name sin the industry. Atsuko Asano (No.6), Keiko Takemiya (To Terra), Go Nagai (Cutey Honey and Devilman) are just some of the names that have come up with the monimated titles.

The winners are to be announced in the late days of April while the official awards ceremony will happen on May 25, 2012.The award it self is a 2,000,000 Japanese yen (almost exactly 19,000 euro) check and a statuette.
