I just came upon the information that Crunchyroll, an international streamer of official anime, is presenting its subscribers with the opportunity to watch a J-drama. The stream will be on Thursdays, starting with episodes 12 and 13 being simulcasted with their original broadcast in Japan. The show can be seen at 7pm PST (Fridays at 3am GMT).
The title of the series is Secret Agent Erika (Himitsu Chouhouin Erika – 秘密諜報員 エリカ ) and is the story revolves around Erika Takahashi, an ex-Japan’s Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office spy who, after suddenly meeting the love of her life (together with his small child) decides to stop with the secrecy and turn into a normal housewife. However, this is not the plans of her boss, who after about a year gets back to her with some new missions. Being obligated to work for him, Erika Takahashi begins her double life as both a loving wife and parent and as a deadly spy.
The main character is played by Chiaki Kuriyama and is popular for her role in Kill Bill Vol.1 where she played Gogo Yubari.
Is this great news or not-so-great? What do you think? Comment below.
