Bandai Entertainment Closes The Store

The online store for Bandai franchise merchandise and items entitled creatively “The Store” will be closed by the main company. The statement has been sent to the subscribers by email, telling that until the very date of the closing of the shop, there will be a huge sale on most of the products in there. Some of the percentages are -50%. Every fan who wanted to buy directly from the company and the ones who have or wanted to buy Crunchyroll and Aniplex items through Bandai’s online store will feel the loss.

Users should be aware that all accumulated points for the shop should be used until the closing date because otherwise they will just be lost forever.

Here is the full information:

Bandai Entertainment announced today it will close its ecommercewebsite, THE STORE (http://store.bandai-ent.com/), on December 29, 2011.

Starting today, store items will be sold at a large discount–up to 50% off on select items while in-store supplies last. The sale will end the same date as the store closing.

Customers who have been accumulating points via store purchases must use them prior to the closing date. Orders will not be accepted after 5PM (Pacific Standard Time) December 29,
2011.

Bandai Entertainment reminds internet customers that the company’s DVDs, Blu-rays and other products will continue to be available at other fine online retailers.

Guess all the relatives of people that got points (having in mind the discounts too) will get anime for the holidays. ;)

They don’t really tell us why. I still think i’s not simply lack of sales. Maybe they’re planning some alternative?
