SWWEEET’s Kei Aoyama Passes Away

After a final post in his Twitter account, probably used as a suicide note, Kei Aoyama was found dead in his Tokyo apartment on October 9, 2011. The circumstances around the untimely death of the 32-year-old male mangaka, author of SWWEEET, are still uncertain. All that has become known to the masses is that he has been found hung from the neck in his bathroom.

Here is the content of his final Twitter message:

“Well, I have much left to do and much I dreamed of doing, but I hardly have any “regrets.” I am content with the 32 years I have lived. “

and the original in Japanese:

“まあ、やり残したことや、やりたかった夢などはいっぱい残ってはいるけど、「思い残すこと」はあまりないのだ。僕は、僕が生きた32年に、結構満足しているのだ。”

Although the author of SWWEEET, Strobe Light and China Girl was not as popular as other mangaka, we are certain that he will be greatly missed by the fans and readers of his stories and projects.

So weird when someone passes away… I never know what to say and feel awkward. Can’t stop thinking about his relatives, left to wonder why he did it.
