Reki Kawahara’s Works with Anime Adaptations

Happy as you may be about the start of the Fall season, Shinigami-sama has yet another great news for all of you fans of the anime world! Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novels that tell the story of Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya, a genius programmer that loves spending his time inside an alternative massive multiplayer online world game. The “Sword Art Online” MMO game is definitely something that today’s children and teens would love, the grown up kids too, for it is all about swords and defeating opponents. In order to get out of the alternate reality, though, the player needs to finish the game and finishing it means the death of the player.

The author, Reki Kawahara, is also quite popular for the same science-fiction futuristic world that is present also in the Accel World novels. They too, just became known, are getting their anime adaptation. This time the story is more a future-teen genre and revolves around Haroyuki. He is a young middle school student who is often a subject to bullying. his life, though, comes to a U-turn when in the Autumn of 2046, he encounters Kuroyukihime – the most beautiful girl in his school. She presents him with the Accel World – an aternative reality software where he has the possibility to become “Burst Linker”, none other but the very knight, the paladin that will protect the Princess herself.

Both series have been published since volume one up by Kawahara and the current eight volume by Kadokawa and have been a great hit. Thanks to the great work on Accel World, the author Reki Kawahara, has earned the top award in the 15th Dengeki Novel Prizes.
