Gundam: New Arcade Competition Show to Launch in October

Another new candy for the Gundam fans is coming to the small screen, but this time it is neither an anima series nor additional episodes of the saga, it is also not a movie. This time we’re talking about the possibility to have real life tv personalities compete against the famous Gundam:Senjou no Kizuna players. Everything about the clash human race versus mecha is known: The time – October 4, 2011; the place – TV Tokyo channel; the event – weekly, reoccurring.

The show will be based on the original Mobile Suit Gundam arcade game. The competitors will be Toshiyuki Itakura and his team of fellow television personalities and their opponents from other teams that are unannounced yet. The 07th Itakura team will consist of Admiral Itakura, Rear Admiral Hideki Morimoto, Captain Ayako Uemura and Vice Admiral Kabapan. They will compete for the top position of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Bands of the Battlefield game. One of its key interesting facts is that the players can actually be in the cockpit of a gundam from the original series and control it.

The official website  of the upcoming TV Tokyo show will start accepting applicants for the competing teams on Friday, September 16, 2011.
